SCROLL TO EXPERIENCE THE EVENT

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Expo '74, Homage honored Spokane’s industrial roots while reimagining its future.

Through fashion, music, and sustainable practices, we created a platform that celebrated our city's heritage and brought the community together.

Celebrating Expo '74: The Significance of Homage

Expo '74 put Spokane on the world stage, showcasing environmental awareness and innovation. Fifty years later, Homage continues that tradition by celebrating the city's industrial spirit, fostering creativity, and promoting sustainability—values that were central to the Expo’s mission.

In honoring this legacy, Homage emphasizes sustainable fashion and local collaboration, aligning with Expo's vision for a more responsible and creative future.

The Fashion Show

The fashion show was the centerpiece of Homage, bringing together bold designs that were inspired by Spokane's industrial roots and the minimalist art of Piet Mondrian and Josef Albers.

Each garment was crafted from reclaimed fabrics, turning worn goods into statement pieces. This process not only celebrated sustainable fashion but also paid homage to the past by transforming utilitarian materials into modern, wearable art.

Immersive Live Music

Pianist Archie Chen delivered a captivating live performance at the heart of the Pavilion. His music moved the models through the venue with an emotive and sophisticated cadence, providing a musical backdrop for the attendees at the event.

The musical score not only complemented the aesthetic of the garments but also created an auditory connection to the heritage of Spokane. His music added emotional depth, making the experience feel like a multi-sensory journey through time.

The Venue

The Riverfront Park Pavilion, a centerpiece of Expo '74, symbolizes Spokane’s transformation and commitment to innovation. Hosting Homage at this iconic site created a symbolic bridge between the city's past, present, and future.

The Pavilion's architecture, with its cascading netting representing a 'glass ceiling,' embodies the breaking of barriers and untapped potential—making it the perfect setting for Homage.

Custom Branding & Immersive Design

Every visual element of the event, from the branded entryway signage to the custom-designed invitations, was a reflection of Homage’s commitment to blending Spokane’s industrial legacy with modern aesthetics.

The event featured custom entry, seating, and exit signage, a consistent branding experience throughout the space, and invitations for local business owners. These touches gave the event a polished, cohesive look that underscored its professional quality.

We utilized digital and print marketing to promote the event, while highlighting our amazing sponsors.

After Party at Volstead Act

The after party at Volstead Act was designed to encourage networking, collaboration, and celebration—providing a relaxed space for attendees, sponsors, and artists to connect.

The signature drink—a beer and a shot—was a playful tribute to Spokane’s blue-collar work force. Custom menus were displayed to accompany the theme of the event.

A Sustainable Future

The event’s focus on locally sourced materials and collaborations with Spokane-based artists, musicians, and designers, amplified the importance of supporting the local creative economy.

Homage was only the beginning of what November plans to bring to the community. We aim to consistently foster connections and meaningful experiences in Spokane.
